Tabacco companeds always were full of shit, they used the semantic trick that no particular cancer had ever been _link_ed to a particular cancer and there are two few people around to see theroguh this semaitc bullshit. nevertheless Lomborg desrves respect; his book is only $49.00 and is beuatrifully written. The most controversial statement he makes is around the green house effect.  He points out that Kyoto will cost trillions every year; enough to cure every other prblem in the world yet its effect will be to delay global warming that would ahve occured in 100 years time to 106 years time. Kyotro is about trading carbon and it won't solve the greenhouse problem.  My fear is that it will waste so much money it will put us in a worse situation to solve th real problem and I'm sure it will depress economies so much we won't work towards the real solutions. The necessary primary solution to the greenhouse issue is this; new energy sources such as solar or nuclear like the IFR (Integral Fuel Reactor).  For solar we need to spend those billions on building satelites or research, not a trillions on uneconomic  high energy efficiency devices. What I dislike about mcuh of the 'green movement' is its left wing political correctness in that it is negativistic rather than positive.  It so negative and pessimistic.
