AMC tracks the industry’s extraordinary response to the Holocaust as both society and Holocaust survivors began to reflect on these events in a compelling new 90-minute documentary. Sparks will fly during the half hour show as prominent celebrity and industry guests debate all sides of current industry flashpoints: the stand-offs, entanglements and dilemmas that are inevitable as writers, directors, producers, stars and agents vie to put forward their own often-conflicting agendas in search of the ultimate box office home run. Production Company: Scott Sternberg Productions Executive Producer: Scott Sternberg OCTOBER 26-31 MONSTERFEST 2003 AMC will once again be the ultimate television destination for monster movie aficionados, with its MONSTERFEST six day programming line-up boasting the original special SHORT SCREAMERS WITH CLIVE BARKER, the world premiere of PIÑATA: SURVIVAL ISLAND and popular horror movies like AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS (1997). AMC will team with renowned director and author Clive Barker to seek out and give national exposure to original short horror films made by aspiring directors. For the second consecutive year, AMC has contacted emerging independent film directors and industry up-and-comers, including the LA.-_base_d “filmmaking collective,” Group 101 Films, to solicit original horror shorts for MONSTERFEST. Dozens of these innovative, and wildly creative shorts, each approximately one-minute in length, will air interstitially throughout MONSTERFEST and online at the network’s website, www.amctv.com. NOVEMBER NOVEMBER 17 THE AMC PROJECT: I WANT TO BE CLIVE McCLEAN/I WANT TO BE KARAN ROJAN Meet filmmaker Peter Mattei, who only months after his film, LOVE IN THE TIME OF MONEY, premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival 2002, finds himself broke and out of work. In this wry exploration of his personal journey to find employment in the movie business, Mattei turns the camera on himself as he attempts to break into two very different segments of the business – pornography and Bollywood – the popular Indian movie genre. These two half-hour films, which premiere back-to-back on November 17, follow New York independent filmmaker Mattei on his personal journey through the daunting challenges of making a living at his chosen profession. AMC broadcast the 17th Annual American Cinematheque Award presentation in March 2003, which honored two-time Academy Award®-winner Denzel Washington. This year’s 18th annual honoree will be announced shortly. This outrageous new stop-motion series is an animated parody of a Hollywood magazine show, a la Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight, where all the movies and TV shows featured are a just a bit off center. The show's main focus is spirited parodies of what-if movie and TV concepts (Six Feet Undercover Brother, American Booty and M. Night Shamalyn's Dead and Deader), coupled with the requisite star interviews, film premiere coverage and tours of the garbage cans of the famous. Between these segments, the show will delve into the on-air and off-screen antics of the hosts and their crew.
