grand am help with a grand am I thinking of buying

I like American cars but I also hate how difficult it is to mod anything on them. So I have a few questions for you all, maybe you can help clear up some things for me: 1) What can you do to a Grand Am GT? From what I've read, it sounds like you can upgrade the exhaust and maybe do a few little mods, but no turbo, no supercharge option...nothing. 2) I heard a rumor there will be a supercharger for the 3.4L engine soon. Is that true? 3) This is more of comment, would it kill them to put an automatic on it? And this question has to do with mods I've heard I can do: 1) I've heard that if i get the 5-speed 2.4 4 cylindar, that I can do quite a few mods to it, including a turbo. I also read that it is possible to get it up to 350hp. Fact of fiction? I'm considering a grand am coz I (one of the few...the way people make it sound) like the styling and I overall have good feelings about the car. But it looks like I will have to go Japanese again to get the performance I want, oh well...

in to out. Tweaking any of american cars usually requires a lot of Mcgeiver-izing (however you spell that show's name). Also the engines tend to be more tightly compacted in these cars and unnecessarily crowded. I don't believe that they make the grand am v6 motor with an manual transaxle, but I could be wrong on that. LANCE Justin <
